Aquaman: 22 Easter Eggs & References Explained

10. The Bifrost

Thor Bifrost Rainbow Bridge Destroyed

A large number of Aquaman's reviews so far have compared the movie to Kenneth Branagh's Thor, in that it similarly takes a light-footed approach to fundamentally ridiculous, Shakespearean material, while immersing audiences in a far-flung new world.

The similarities become even more glaring when Mera brings Arthur back to Atlantis as an adult and shows him the "gateway bridge", a medium between the surface world and Atlantis which bears an uncanny resemblance to the Bifrost Bridge from Thor.

It doesn't appear that Atlantis has ever had such a bridge in the comics, so this really does feel like an absurdly unsubtle attempt to copy the Thor formula.

Sadly the bridge doesn't have much physical presence in the movie after being introduced, so it just seems like a half-baked attempt at world-building, honestly.
