Though James Wan's directing $200 million movies these days, he of course started his career on 2004's $1.2 million surprise hit Saw, working from a screenplay written by his pal Leigh Whannell (who also starred in the movie as Adam).

Well, keep your eyes peeled during the Sahara plane sequence and you might notice that Whannell has a cameo as the plane's pilot, even getting to show off his usually-concealed Australian accent.

As if that's not cool enough, Whannell even posted an insanely sweet tweet during shooting of the scene. D'aww.
