16. No Air Bubbles

You'd be forgiven for forgetting, but in Justice League, Arthur was only able to speak to Mera (Amber Heard) after she formed an air bubble around them as a makeshift cocoon.

Though the scene demonstrated the sure strength of Mera's powers, it also seemed like a clumsy way to depict communication in Atlantis, especially with Aquaman's solo movie obviously planning to feature a wealth of underwater dialogue.

Well, showing just how little regard even the DCEU's other filmmakers have for Justice League, James Wan decided to reject that conceit completely and simply have the characters talk to one another as though underwater chatter were completely normal (with a slight watery warble added in post-production).

Wan even openly tweeted about scrapping what Justice League had established, somewhat amusingly demonstrating the utter lack of coherence between the DCEU's movies.
