15. Black Manta's Tooling Up Sequence

Probably the dumbest sequence in the entire film comes when Black Manta is gifted the prototype weapon from Orm he needs to use to kill Aquaman and goes about repurposing it into his iconic helmet and armour.

Unfortunately, the film to that point singularly fails to present him as an inventor of any kind, so when we then get to see him tooling up and developing the armour, it's no surprise that he messes up. The sequence undermines him horribly as it's played for laughs (including his "I'm going to need a bigger helmet" gag that might as well have been accompanied by him slipping on a Jaws cap and winking to the camera).

Whether intentional or not, the sequence comes across exactly like Homer Simpson attempting to cook Mr Burns his breakfast and everything illogically bursting into flames...

Also, it's a small thing, but when Orm's soldiers pay him and he drops the coins in front of him, the very next shot shows them behind him. It's that kind of lack of attention to details that ruins everything for us pedants.
