By now we've all pored over the Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice trailer multiple times. No matter what your opinion on it is, you were probably tickled at the site of Doomsday there at the end. But is it actually Doomsday? One redditor doesn't seem to think so. This sleuth suggests that the villain glimpsed at the end is actually new-ish Superman villain Wraith. Take a look at the image below, then take a look at the still from the trailer, then let's discuss how likely this is. Now, there is a high chance that this is Doomsday. He's got the name recognition and fan adoration. Not to mention a long and storied history with Superman. However, when we look at Wraith's power set - which includes energy absorption, projection and transference - we see abilities that are seemingly used by whoever this villain is in the trailer (that big explosion directed at Batman) and have never been used by Doomsday. Once you think about that, then take another look at the appearance of the character in both comic and trailer, it's easy to see where /u/WeightLiftingLulu drew their conclusions. Personally I find it unlikely that such a new character (who was only introduced two months after Man Of Steel hit cinemas in 2013) would take precedence over another who holds such importance to the Superman mythos. Yet it's not outside the realm of possibility that Zack Snyder would opt for a newer, fresher character. Either way, it looks like Bats, Supes and the chick with the lasso have their work cut out for them. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is released on 25th March 2016.
