Atonement trailer

atonement.jpgThe trailer for the period British war drama Atonement, has found it's way online. The movie directed by Joe Wright, sees him re-team with his Pride and Prejudice star Kiera Knightley, with James McAvoy and Venessa Redgrave also cast. The film is based on an Ian McEwan book of the same name in which a 13 year old accuses Knightley's lover James McAvoy of a crime he did not commit. The book as will the movie, follows how this effects the lives of several different people amongst the backdrop of WWII. I really missed the boat on this one. Lots of this movie (all the great and epic shots of the beach) were filmed about 60 minutes away from where I live... it may just be the closest I ever get to Kiera Knightley! CLICK HERE TO SEE THE TRAILER After a slow start, I think the trailer picks up and comes together quite nicely. I really love the sound of Dario Marianelli's score, he too is a guy who has been carried over from Pride and Prejudice where he received an Oscar nomination. It sounds like a movie I can't put my finger one. I thought Pride and Prejudice was surprisingly good in 2005 but this looks much stronger a film and with the shooting taking place so near me, I can't miss the opportunity of seeing this when it's released. Atonement is set to hit cinema's in the U.K. on Sept 14th and in the U.S. around Christmas time, with what we believe to be a limited release in the States. source - coming soon, empire online
