This shouldn't really come as a surprise, as a number of movies come in "parts" now (movies from the Harry Potter, Twilight and Hunger Games franchises for example), but it has been rumoured that Avengers 3 might join the club. It does make sense - especially if the Guardians of the Galaxy are going to be involved - as that is a large number of characters to fit in to a single movie and if there are going to be scenes both in space and on Earth, splitting it up would undoubtedly be a good idea so that each part has a unique feel and identity. It might not be the first time the concept has been used, but it would certainly be unique as far as comic book movies are concerned and we can't wait to see if it actually happens (though we should stress that Marvel have said it's actually unlikely).
