When Thanos was resurrected by Death in order to wield the Infinity Gauntlet and, in turn, in order to bring balance to the universe by wiping out half of its sentient life, a group of beings came together to discuss the course of action. Those were Adam Warlock, Doctor Doom, Doctor Strange, the Silver Surfer, Rintrah and Pip the Troll. Given that Doctor Doom and the Silver Surfer are tied up in Fox's movie franchise, and given that Rintrah is a relatively minor character (who also happens to be a green minotaur), Doctor Strange is going to need some other people to confer with. One of those people could be someone we're already familiar with from the MCU's Earth, like Iron Man, another could be someone not Earth-based like Thor or Gamora, and another could be Pip himself. Pip was once a Prince on his native planet of Laxidazia but, after a night of drinking with the local trolls, he became one of them and was shunned by his people. He stowed away on a ship leaving the planet and eventually met Adam Warlock, who he went on numerous adventures with and that's how he found himself plotting against Thanos. Pip has the power of teleportation, as well as some minor superhuman strength and, after Thanos was relieved of the Infinity Gauntlet, he became part of the "Infinity Watch" - a group of beings responsible for looking after each of the Infinity Gems (the Space Gem, in Pip's case). As such, he could become an extremely important character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
