Avengers 4: 10 Most Likely Characters To Be Killed

As with Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr's contract situation seems to suggest that he's not going to be around these parts too much longer. He's already extended a couple of times - quite lucratively, of course - and while the MCU was pretty much built on his shoulders, he can't keep going on forever.

Marvel would probably like him to, but it just isn't going to happen.

His death would be the perfect way to sell Thanos' threat, to show that all bets are off when it comes to Avengers 4 and to complete his arc of wanting to protect his friends and the world. Laying down his life for that is a far better end than being remembered as the force behind The Sokovia Accords.

And again, it comes down to the difference Marvel are seeking in Phase 4. Everything so far could quite reasonably be known as the Tony Stark franchise - he's had three of his own movies and two Avengers movies (with two more lined up), he's appeared in a Hulk movie, a Captain America movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming and he was loud background noise in Ant-Man. He's all over the place, and if Marvel want something different, that's the kind of line they should draw.
