Avengers 4: 10 Most Likely Characters To Be Killed

10. Captain America

It's felt inevitable that Captain America would be killed off at the tail end of Phase 3 of the MCU for some time now. We know that Chris Evans' contract situation is very much up in the air (though it has looked increasingly like he will leave the franchise once his contractual obligations are done) and given the fact that Cap "dies" at the end of the Civil War comic arc, he fits as a prime candidate here.

In character terms, Cap sacrificing himself for the good of mankind also fits the story. At the start of Infinity War, he will be classified (officially at least) as a war criminal and there will still be the same superhero anxiety as there was behind the Sokovia Accords. Superheroes need something big to change perceptions, and while Thanos' invasion will prove the need for heroes, there will be a perception that he is just another reason to fear super-powered individuals.

So it would make sense for Cap to sacrifice himself in order to prove to those who still hate heroes that they have their place. Plus, he's the most likely candidate for a public funeral.
