9. Nick Fury

He might already be dead in the perception of all but a handful of superheroes and allies, but there's no way Nick Fury can stay underground in Infinity War and Avengers 4 with a threat as big as Thanos looming.

It would be rather fitting for Fury to be the victim of irony too, since he used the "death" of Agent Coulson in The Avengers to bring the team of heroes together and could end up becoming the same function.

Even though Tony Stark helped the Avengers escape, there is still a huge rift between the heroes thanks to the ideological warfare of Civil War, and they need something to draw them back together. Thanos' threat might be enough, but having him kill Nick Fury would be the perfect cherry on the cake, particularly as Fury appears to be a mercurial, almost invincible figure (having evaded death already a few times).
