6. Tony Stark Becomes The Sorceror Supreme

The Rumour

Thanks to a set photo of Robert Downey Jnr wearing Doctor Strange's cloak, a rumour sprung up that Stark would temporarily become the Sorceror Supreme, since Strange fell at the end of Infinity War and the position is currently vacant. And he's been the Sorceror Supreme a couple of times before - notably and recently in Generations: Iron Man & Ironheart, so it's not like it would be entirely unprecedented.

The Debunking

For a start, there's no way Marvel would allow that leak to happen if it was legit. The scene with Downey Jr wearing the cloak is clearly just the actor goofing around. Also, if there's going to be a stand-in Sorceror Supreme, it's most definitely going to be Wong, assuming he's alive.

On top of that, there's the small fact that the Cloak actually disintegrated with Strange when Thanos snapped his fingers. There is literally nothing for Tony to wear as the Sorceror Supreme, so the scene cannot exist.
