Avengers 4: 10 Things Fans Demand
8. Hawkeye Has His Hero Moment
Hawkeye is, without doubt, the most misunderstood, misused and downright underestimated Avenger out there. Anyone who's seen The Hurt Locker knows that Renner has it in his locker to do Clint Barton justice, but alas, apart from a few flashes of brilliance in Age of Ultron and Civil War, the actor just hasn't been given the appropriate amount of space to make it happen.
Avengers 4, which is said to feature a tragic backstory for the Avengers' archer, could yet change that. Considering the after-effects of Thanos' snap, it's not difficult to imagine what pulls him out of retirement either. The Russos have previously teased a significant part for Barton in the Infinity War follow-up, and with Renner likely to sit out future Marvel features (sadly), now would be the perfect time to prove his doubters wrong.
Superficially, yes, it could be argued that Hawkeye isn't a vital Avenger. To argue as much would be to ignore the entire essence of his character however, and while Clint has always tried to prove his doubters wrong, whether it be in the first two Avengers or Civil War, a large majority of audiences are yet to be won over by the character.
Giving him the opportunity to get one back against Thanos, then, and making good on his archery skills under the Ronin identity, is something that has to happen.
