Avengers 4 is expected to usher out long-serving heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as open the door for new ones to join the franchise in Phase 4, and the founder members of the alliance are prime candidates for retirement.

For half of the lives in the universe - including those of their friends and allies - you can bet Cap and co would willing to do it.
