1. The Ancient One

Her Death: Doctor Strange. While facing Kaecilius and his Zealots in a reality-bending battle, The Ancient One is fatally stabbed in the stomach. Despite being rushed to hospital, she accepts her fate and moves on.

Her Avengers 4 Role: The most recent confirmation on this list - and quite an odd one, at that - executive producer Michael Grillo let slip that actress Tilda Swinton had done one day on the set of Avengers 4.

During a panel at the Austin Film Festival, Grillo was talking about the logistical nightmare of organising so many actors for Avengers 4, when he name-dropped Swinton specifically (via SuperBroMovies):

"When we got Tilda Swinton, she was just a 1-day availability."

Beyond that, we have no context, but another interesting detail revealed at the same panel may shed some light on Swinton's role. Reportedly, the panelists (including Avenger's 4's writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely) revealed that there was a scene which took 14 months of prep time and 70 trailers for actors.

Since Grillo was talking about how difficult Swinton's scheduling was, it's curious that the panelists would also mention a scene that sounded like a nightmare to organise, a possible clue that this is where Swinton will appear.

Either way... 70 trailers?! Does that mean 70 actors, too? We need to see this scene right now please.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
