2. The New Avengers

The Spoiler: The first wave of Avengers are killed off or retired in Infinity War. The second wave sees a whole new team - led by Doctor Strange, probably - form to defeat Thanos, who obviously won round one.

There is still the possibility that Avengers: Infinity War ends with a lot of death and the heralding of a new era Marvel heroes. Kevin Feige cannot rely on Captain America (well, the Steve Rogers version), Iron Man and Thor to lead the MCU for decades, as a whole new raft of character are introduced, because that will reinforce the idea of the new characters as second stringers.

In short, the MCU needs to grow a new skin and allow the new wave of characters to become the prime time players, outside of the first Avengers' shadows. And the only way to do that is to kill them and restart the Avengers Initiative.

We already have potential members (and a potential leader in the shape of Doctor Strange), and it would be great to see a team-up of the likes of Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, The Wasp, Spider-Man and Strange coming together to defeat Thanos where their forebears failed.
