Avengers 4: 9 Things We KNOW Will Happen
9. Spider-Man's Return
Despite the thematic oddity that is killing off Spidey just after Marvel reacquired him to join the MCU, we know "Spider-Man: Homecoming 2" (working title) is officially confirmed.
Speaking to the Toronto Sun, producer and plot-spinning maestro Kevin Feige noted that not only does Avengers 4 mark the end of the “original 22-movie arc", but it's the Web-Head's new movie in July 5th 2019 that "usher[s] us into the aftermath and how things proceed from there.”
The reality of this setup means that Spidey has to return in A4, for the sake of segueing into his next movie. There's just no way to maintain his absence throughout when you need to market a standalone film immediately after.
Leaving his "resurrection"/reappearance until then could work, but do we really think Sony and Marvel would lead with nothing but footage of anyone other than him?
Side note/wild theory: What if Peter Parker stays dead, and we see Miles Morales leap into action for his own movie instead, bringing Parker/Holland back at a later date? We know he's around in New York thanks to a mention in Spider-Man: Homecoming, after all.
