Avengers 4: Did A New Revelation Tease How Captain America Will Survive

3. Tardigrades In The Quantum Realm

As revealed in the trailers for Ant-Man And The Wasp, the Quantum Realm isn't devoid of life. As well as Janet Van Dyne hanging out there, Tardigrades can be seen floating around. This may seem purely incidental, but there has to be a reason they're there... Perhaps the point is that they fit with the idea that time doesn't matter there, given that they are the most durable creatures known to man (they can survive in space) but that their lifespans are relatively short.

The fact that they can live in the Quantum Realm suggests that their hardiness means their lifespan no longer matters. In essence, Marvel are hinting here that the right physiology can allow someone to be immortal in the Quantum Realm. Sure, they'd be trapped, but they'd be immortal.

So, is this a major hint that the Quantum Realm might offer Captain America a means to do as a Tardigrade would and survive something that would kill other organisms? If he can survive just as they would, he can presumably endure the Quantum Realm's atmospheric challenges (whatever they may be).

It might sound a little far-fetched, but when Captain America was killed in the comics, he actually just travelled outside of his normal universe thanks to some tricky tech. And if there's any truth to the rumour that Thanos' snap doesn't kill, but instead transports victims someewhere else, it could be that we're being set up for Cap to be "killed" and sent on an interdimensional journey.

There's precedent for that, and the other key things to remember are that the Quantum Realm isn't subject to the normal limits of "time" AND Kevin Feige has literally just hinted that there will be things hidden in the Quantum Realm that could tease future MCU events.
