Avengers 4: Predicting The Fate Of Every Avenger

21. Nebula

Guardians Of The Galaxy Nebula Gamora
Marvel Studios

Current Status: Alive on Titan

Her Avengers 4 Fate: Nebula and Tony are alive on Titan, so will be paired up in Avengers 4 - albeit briefly. The blue cyborg has always been something of a lone ranger, so she won't be heading back to Earth with him. The Guardians' ship is still on Titan and Nebula must have one there too, so that makes two ships for two people; it's likely Nebula will leave Tony on his own while she jets off in search of Thanos.

Nebula is desperate to make her father feel that same pain he inflicted upon her as she was growing up. And, she'll want to avenge Gamora. Since she was left unharmed at the end of Infinity War, the filmmakers must have something planned for her, so we're guessing that she'll finally get to strike a significant blow against her wrinkle-chinned purple daddy.

She's no match for him physically, but she could utilise the Infinity Gauntlet (like she does in the comics), turning her father's greatest weapon against him. All Thanos does is cause Nebula pain, so it's about time she dealt some back in return.

But after Avengers 4... it's hard to imagine the character having a place in the MCU, considering her whole arc - from the very first Guardians movie - has been so closely tied to Thanos. Expect her to have a heroic death soon after wounding her father, dying with the knowledge that he's close to meeting his maker. Nebula sacrificing herself to take down Thanos would be the most fitting end to her story.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
