3. Actor John Slattery Has Shot Some Scenes

At this point it's almost a given that Avengers 4 will be a time-travel movie, as indicated by leaked set pictures and hints from the movies themselves.

And what does time-travel allow for? Deceased characters returning for a cameo or a full supporting role. If a report by ThatHashtagShow is to be believed, that's exactly what's going to happen with a key figure from Tony's past.

The outlet recently stated that actor John Slattery - who played Tony's father Howard in Iron Man 2, Ant-Man and Captain America: Civil War - was on-set and shot scenes with Robert Downey Jr.

Though these scenes were apparently not a part of the current reshoots, this report is worth mentioning here because it sprung up in the midst of all the reshoots chatter that's circulating at the moment. So, the two could be linked. ThatHashtagShow doesn't mention when Slattery's scenes were shot; they could have been as recently as last week, and there's even a chance they were part of the reshoots after all.

And while the nature of Slattery's role isn't known, there are plenty of possibilities. B.A.R.F technology (as seen in Civil War) can be used to revisit memories, so maybe that's at play. Or if this is straight-up time-travel, then maybe Tony is trying to save his parents from death at the hands of The Winter Soldier. It could even be a simple flashback.

ThatHashtagShow does caution that Slattery's scenes could be cut, so if he isn't in the movie, don't be surprised!
