Avengers 5: EVERY Major Rumour Ranked Worst To Best

Could we be about to see Secret Wars in the MCU?

How do you follow something as epic as Infinity War and Endgame? Well, for the mean time, Kevin Feige and his MCU minions are keeping their cards as close to their chest as ever, leaving a fifth Avengers movie off their phase four slate completely.

Even as his Hall H presentation came to close, Feige found time to name drop Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and even Blade. But nothing about Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Of course, Feige has since confirmed that there will be a fifth Avengers movie in time, but other than this, we know absolutely nothing. As infuriating as it may be to be so in the dark, it would ruin the fun if we knew everything immediately. What about the months and years of predictions, theories, and speculation?

At the moment, there are at least the six movies of phase four between now and Avengers 5, maybe more. Not to mention at least five Disney+ shows. Who knows what the landscape of the MCU will look like by the time the fifth instalment in the franchise rolls around?

Still, this has never stopped wonderful and exciting rumours from surfacing before, and now is absolutely no different.

10. It Will Release In 2023

Though it is always subject to change, phase four of the MCU has been mapped out in its entirety by Kevin Feige. Every upcoming movie in the latest chapter of the franchise, from Black Widow to Thor: Love and Thunder, has been given a release date in either 2020 or 2021.

Following phase four, the MCU currently has eight more release slots scheduled, four in 2022 and four 2023. Black Panther 2 will open on May 6th 2022, but the remaining seven are still open. In late 2019, We Got This Covered reported that Avengers 5 will be occupying one of the 2023 slots.

This makes sense from a story building point of view, giving Marvel Studios as much possible scope to build up to the next installment in the Avengers franchise. Not to mention if phase five follows the same formula as one, two, and three, the movie will be one of the last in the chapter.

We were spoiled getting both Avengers Infinity War and Endgame in the space of 12 months, and having four years to wait between the fourth and fifth entries in the franchise isn't so unreasonable, given that there were three years between Avengers Assemble and Age of Ultron, and Age of Ultron and Infinity War.
