Avengers: 9 Major Things Marvel Just Revealed In Vanity Fair

7. Kevin Feige Invented Hugh Jackman's Wolverine Hair

Away from the Avengers, the feature talks in depth about Kevin Feige's importance to the franchise. He's called a "fanboy" and the foundation stone for the entire idea of the MCU, and he also reveals what he did before the brainwave of the MCU came to him.

Back in 2000, Lauren Shuler Donner - Feige's first boss on his road to becoming a producer - was working on X-Men, and watched an exasperated stylist mould Hugh Jackman's hair into the ridiculous - but effective - double peaked quiff that became such a part of his look. The style was created at the insistence of Feige.

He's actually learned from that experience in a tangible way, and knows the value of not being too serious:

“If you go back and look at it, he’s got big-ass hair in that first movie. But that’s Wolverine! I never liked the idea that people weren’t attempting things because of the potential for them to look silly. Anything in a comic book has the potential to look silly. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to make it look cool.”
