Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 10 Heartbreaking Joss Whedon Deaths That Will Be Hard To Beat

Who will The Angel of Death, Joss Whedon, kill off this time?

After months of anticipation, audiences are finally getting to see Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow and Hawkeye together on screen again. The Avengers: Age Of Ultron is setting the stakes even higher with a very global scale and a villain as iconic as Ultron putting humanity at risk of extinction. It will also mark Joss Whedon's second and final time directing the Avengers for the big screen. Delivering one of the highest grossing films in history with The Avengers, Joss Whedon proved to the world what fans of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Firefly already knew. He is a master storyteller, able to juggle rich characters, balancing drama, humour, action and horror in equal measure. He also demonstrated that he isn't afraid to kill off a good character, something that didn't surprise fans of his shows. Across Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Serenity and The Avengers, Whedon traumatised audiences with some major character deaths. With the latest Avengers movie being his last, Joss Whedon is likely to strike once more, delivering a character death will traumatise millions. Just because we know Thor has a third move coming and Steve Rogers and Tony Stark are going head to head in Captain America: Civil War doesn't mean that one major character isn't going to meet their maker before the credits roll. In fact, given Whedon's history as the Angel of Death, audiences can count on it. The death of any character in Avengers: Age Of Ultron is going to have some stiff competition though. This article looks at ten of the most terrible character deaths Joss Whedon conjured up over the years. Click next, shed a tear and remember just who didn't make it out of a Joss Whedon TV show or film alive...
