Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 10 Reasons It's The Weirdest MCU Movie Ever

4. The Vision

The Vision isn't a particularly well-known superhero (at least compared with the rest of the team), so it's not really a surprise that his sudden arrival in Avengers: Age Of Ultron inspired cries of "Who is the hell is that?" throughout cinemas across the globe. It doesn't help that he's played by Paul Bettany, either, who - generally speaking, anyway - isn't particularly recognisable when it comes to your average film-goer. Those points aside, though, The Vision is still an odd fit for the MCU, and his appearance in the movie is one of the defining reasons as to why Age Of Ultron leaves you feeling a little bewildered when it's all over with. After all, The Vision remains kind of undefined in terms of the MCU, and his powers and abilities are left vague. He also only turns up at the end of the flick, really, and Whedon asks us to buy into the idea of his creation - as an offshoot of an Ultron-plan gone very wrong - pretty quickly. The Vision also feels like he's been pulled out of a different comic book world entirely; he arrives, super-powerful, with a half-assed creation story, and spends the rest of the film flying about punching things. He even gets to kill Ultron. It's weird, yes, but it's also badly explained and poorly implemented.
