9. Tony Stark, The Mad Scientist

Though the movie as a whole doesn't hint as much at the Tony-Steve schism as you might expect, it certainly nods towards the personality traits which will cause them to fall on different sides of the Superhero Registration Act debate. In Age of Ultron, Stark is paranoid and frightened after Scarlet Witch shows him a believable vision of the future where his teammates are all dead and beaten, and this helps convince him to complete development of Ultron, which of course has disastrous results. With the movie's numerous allusions to Frankenstein and Pinocchio, it's not surprising that Stark comes across as a bit of a mad scientist at times, all the more so because Ultron is said to reflect the darker side of Stark's own personality. This will no doubt epitomise what those who oppose the Superhero Registration Act will come to think of Stark, though even they'll have to admit that he has better hair than your typical crazy scientist...
