Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 11 Ways It Was Almost Completely Different

10. The Abomination Almost Appeared

At some point down the production line, the Abomination (as played by Tim Roth) was pencilled in to be a villain alongside the main big bad, as Roth admitted prior to release.

Unfortunately for him, Abomination was written out - though there may yet be scope for him to return for a future Avengers movie.

Would It Have Worked?

Having a secondary threat - particularly one targeted at nullifying the Hulk threat - wouldn't have been the worst idea, but Tim Roth's performance in The Incredible Hulk was somewhat typically pantomimey, so it's perhaps best he wasn't brought back.

Plus there's also the fact that more openly acknowledging that film as part of the MCU brings up the question of why Banner has completely forgotten Betty Ross - a spanner who would have ruined the dynamic with Black Widow.

All-in-all, having Hulk battle himself as much as the Hulk Buster was a more nuanced approach than just unleashing another monster.
