Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 15 Theories That Were Utter Bull
12. The End Would Lead Into Civil War
The Theory: With Captain America: Civil War on its way, the film would end with Tony Stark and Cap already at each other's throats, and the Superhero Registration Act not far off.
The Supposed Evidence: Narratively, it made sense. Plus there would surely not be enough time in a stand-alone to set up the Act and then have the entirety of Civil War play out as it did in the comics.
The Reality: Yes, there was foreshadowing and a brief fist fight, but by the end of the film Stark and Rogers were bantering friends again. Their stand-points on extremism and doing whatever it takes to protect the world might be in the right place, but there's a long way to go before actual war breaks out.
Would It Have Been Better? Despite how difficult it would be to end an Avengers film on too big a downer (apart from Infinity Wars part 1 presumably), it would have been better if the old team was torn apart, rather than it just drifting away.
