Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 8 Things You Need To Know About Paul Bettany's Vision
8. He's Derived From JARVIS
Bettany is already a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since the first Iron Man movie he's been the voice of JARVIS, the snarky AI created by Tony Stark to assist him in...Iron Man stuff. In the comics Jarvis was an actual English butler who waited on the members of the Avengers Mansion, but they decided to glitz the idea up a little for modern audiences and the big screen. Rather than do a Doctor Who and simply cast Bettany as a different character whilst pretending the actor deffo didn't already play somebody else earlier on, the safe bet is that The Vision will be in some way derived from JARVIS. And given the latest Age Of Ultron trailers, that's almost a given. The plot, such as it is at the moment, seems to involve Tony Stark trying to solve the Avengers' problem of not being everywhere at once by building the Ultron droids, powered by artificial intelligence. Y'know, like what JARVIS is. So, JARVIS becomes Ultron becomes Vision.
