Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 8 Things You Need To Know About Paul Bettany's Vision

7. But Probably Created By Ultron

That's almost certainly the family tree that leads to Bettany's character, since that's how it went down in the comics. Whilst there are certain tweaks to the source material in bringing Ultron to the screen €“ originally he was created by Hank Pym, who is being played by Michael Douglas in Ant-Man, but here he's Tony Stark's baby. Still, most of the signs point to Age Of Ultron sticking to the established formula when it comes to the Vision. All the trailers and official info so far involve Ultron taking over his various drones to attack the Avengers, and he's spoken (with those portentous James Spader tones) of destroying the superteam from the inside. Which, in the comics, is exactly what he created The Vision to do. A type of android Ultron calls a "synthezoid", The Vision was tasked with infiltrating the Avengers and leading them into a trap of Ultron's. So maybe it could be a whole different ball game in Age Of Ultron, since it's frequently going off book, or The Vision could be a cat amongst the pigeons. But more cool than that.
