Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 8 Things You Need To Know About Paul Bettany's Vision

1. He Becomes An Avenger

Probably the most important thing you need to know about The Vision, though, is that €“ regardless of his origins, powers, looks or level of attraction to human beings with robot fetishes €“ he's an Avenger. Or he will be eventually. Even if the super team doesn't recruit him over the course of Age Of Ultron, he's destined to become a member at some point. One of their best, in fact. The classic line-up of the Avengers from the sixties and seventies is starting to slot into place on screen: Hulk, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Captain America, Hawkeye, with Ant-Man on the way too. The real core of that classic line-up, though, is The Vision, who for a long time after was the de facto leader of the team and probably the one character most closely associated with the Avengers. Again, that might be because he didn't really have much of a presence as a solo character and worked best in the ensemble, but also it's because that's what he was created for. Unlike the other characters, who got flung together form existing books, The Vision was one of the first created specifically to be an Avenger. And so, that's where Paul Bettany's likely to end up. Plus eventually they might do a film of Avengers AI, the team of robotic and tech-related Marvel heroes, hopefully when they've sorted out some rights deal with Fox to have a Doombot on the team.
