Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 9 Important Things Hidden In The New Trailer

9. The Fiendish Plots Of The Maximoffs

What's the deal with the Maximoffs in this film? Are they even called the Maximoffs, or is that surname tied up in the complicated rights issues that allow Fox to use the characters in their X-Men films, and Marvel to use them in Avengers simultaniously? Whatever, this is the clearest look audiences have got of them so far. The best look since that post-credits sequence of The Winter Solider that had them locked up by Hydra's Baron Von Strucker, anyway. Exactly what part they have to play in the Avengers sequel has been up for debate, with audiences unclear on whether they start off as bad guys - as they did in the old X-Men comics - or if they're gonna turn out to be a couple of new super-powered recruits to the team. That's sure been cleared up in this trailer. They're bad guys. At least, some of the time. They're hanging out with Ultron, hearing his rhapsodising on his evil schemes, and then there's multiple scenes of them messing with the Avengers. But then there's also a bit where at least the Scarlet Witch is helping with the swarm of Ultron drones attacking them, so maybe nothing's clear after all.
