Avengers: Age Of Ultron: 11 Biggest Questions It Leaves Unanswered

10. Where Did Nick Fury Get A Helicarrier?

The reveal that Nick Fury was alive and well wasn't supposed to be surprising. The very end of Captain America: The Winter Solider involved the former head of SHIELD faking his death, quoting Pulp Fiction on his pretend headstone, before farting off to Europe so he could start up his clandestine spy activities anew. SHIELD was dissolved when it turned out to be full of HYDRA. The reveal that SHIELD is in much better shape than anyone thought, a scant few months after it fell in the face of HYDRA and that big meanie Robert Redford, was the real surprise when Fury popped up in the Barton family shed. Even if you were one of the few who actually still tunes into Agents Of SHIELD on a regular basis, there's been no sign the new organisation was in any way this organised. Or that it had these sorts of resources. They're meant to be operating under the radar at this point, outside of the law. In that case, how in the name of all that is holy did Nick Fury get his hands on an old SHIELD helicarrier? And populate it with agents? Without anybody noticing? He says he found it mothballed somewhere and nicked it, which isn't even approaching a satisfying explanation.
