Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 10 Key Characters Who Could Die

10. Quicksilver

Why He Could Die: He's a safe option. Although Marvel might feel the need to throw caution to the wind and finally kill off a major hero, they might not want to start with one of the already-established, beloved characters like Iron Man or Captain America. Fortunately, Quicksilver could be an easy way out for them. Blessed with the power of super-speed, Quicksilver's origins as a mutant have had to be changed for this movie (though precisely what they've been changed to is still open to debate) and the links with HYDRA that his mid-credits cameo in Captain America: The Winter Soldier could mean that, despite his apparent alliance with the Avengers in this movie, the evil faction have some sort of control over him and, if his actions displease them, they could activate some sort of fail-safe that kills him off after he does something truly heroic. Why He Could Live: It would break Marvel Studios' hearts if they killed Quicksilver off and later found, through the movie's reception upon its release, that he was one of the most popular characters they've brought to the big screen. Also, killing off a character who hasn't already built up a rapport with fans of the franchise prior to the movie's release could be seen as a cop-out - and they've already been accused of that too many times up to now by not having killed off any beloved characters in nine films to date. Likelihood: 3/10. Although Quicksilver's death wouldn't be too damaging to the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, he surely has a bigger part to play in future movies. That said, him being such a safe option means that killing him off isn't totally out of the question.
