Avengers Age Of Ultron: 10 Outrageous Comic Moments That Won't Be Used

9. The Hulk€™s Murderous, Cannibalistic Rampage

There€™s nothing unusual about Bruce Banner losing control and becoming the Hulk €“ he€™s made a career out of it. Still, similar to what Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch accomplished with Captain America during The Ultimates (see entry No. 10), a line of decency was crossed when the creative team took an iconic character in an extreme direction in The Ultimates 1 series. Banner, dejected by the fact that his former flame Betty Ross is on a date with then-Hollywood A-lister Freddie Prinze Jr., injects himself with the Captain America super serum, and goes on the mother of all rampages, willingly killing hundreds of New Yorkers (including eating some of them). The Ultimates (with an assist of their newest member Thor) eventually save the day. But the damage is done and director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Nick Fury has to cover up for Banner€™s attack. The public eventually finds out during The Ultimates 2 series and Banner is then €œexecuted€ (sent away) for his crimes. Now that Marvel Studios has finally found an actor in Mark Ruffalo that has managed to turn the Hulk into a likeable hero, the odds of them changing the character into a remorseless murderer/cannibal of innocent New Yorkers (all in the name of Freddie Prinze Jr.) is slim to nil.
