2. Rivalry With Fury And/Or Captain America
Strucker is a character who goes way back to WW2 and has a history with the former old/white Nick Fury. That rivalry works well as the two are opposing heads of opposing organisations and Strucker and Fury have fought many times over the years. But so far we don't know whether the Thomas Kretschmann version of Strucker will be from WW2 or be a contemporary version. Also, because the current Sam Jackson Nick Fury wasn't in WW2 and there isn't mention of any other Nick Fury in the MCU, it looks to be a problematic history to work out on the screen. So they might not go for the long-term history between the two characters but instead try to establish them as new rivals in Age of Ultron. Or they could stick with the WW2 theme and turn the rivalry between Strucker/Fury into a rivalry between Strucker/Captain America, who was in WW2. Either way, Strucker as the nemesis to one or both has defined his character for decades in the comics so it should be touched upon in the movies.
