Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 5 Things We Need To See From Tony Stark

1. Iron Man€™s Return

Was there any other choice for #1? We may know very little about AoU, but as the title obviously suggests, the Avengers will be forced to battle Ultron. Against Ultron, the team is going to need all the help it can get. From D€™Esposito€™s interview, he heavily implied Stark will eventually step back into the suit. Then, in an interview from Joss Whedon, he revealed Tony does indeed have an arc reactor hiding somewhere. It€™s entirely possible Iron Man could return mere minutes into the movie undoing the ending of the third film. But that poses the question, is RDJ/Tony Stark bigger than Iron Man or vice versa? Would Marvel Studios risk the brief absence of their most popular character? Have the Avengers themselves become popular enough without the presence of Iron Man? Iron Man 3 is proof viewers will still watch even though the Iron Avenger appeared for only 18 minutes. His return needs to be handled right. Whedon and Co. cannot rush his return. As well as everything stated in this article, Tony must struggle with returning to his old antics. He should not immediately jump into action as soon as danger is present. His return needs to be built up throughout the movie with Tony internally deciding if breaking his promise to Pepper is the right thing to do. When he finally does return, it must be in a dire moment when all hope seems lost. It may sound like a cliché, but to elicit a powerful response sometimes a cliché is needed. The best course of action would be during the final battle between the Avengers and Ultron. The sentient being, now unstoppable, is manhandling them with ease. He systematically defeats them one by one. Even the combined forces of Thor and Hulk are enough to challenge him. Then in a pivotal moment, when Ultron is going to kill an Avenger, Iron Man unexpectedly returns to turn the tide of the battle. But not just in any normal Iron Man suit. No, it has to be the debut of the Extremis/ Bleeding Edge Armor Stark has completely kept a secret. For those who don€™t know, these enhancements allow Stark to store the inner-layer of the suit in his bones as well as call upon the rest, increase his intelligence, a healing factor, and the ability to connect to other forms of technology. The insanely-powerful armor was a natural progression from the Extremis story-line. Stark injects himself with the virus to wound his critical injuries allowing for the technology for his armor to be possible. Sound familiar? Stark uses Extremis to finally remove the shrapnel from his chest in Iron Man 3. How likely is it Stark secretly had ulterior motives behind the operation? As he said, €œI Still Am Iron Man.€ Is that line hinting at what€™s to come? To summarize and avoid confusion, Tony Stark needs to help the world through his intellect leading to Ultron's creation. He steps down as co-leader of the Avengers, but does not relinquish full membership. Instead, he continues his role as the team's mechanic, hacker, and tech genius. But when Ultron becomes too powerful, Tony must once again step inside the suit to save the day. Do you agree with the article? Care to share your opinion? Want to bash the author?
