8. Thor's Guilty Conscience

From the looks of it, Thor's failure to kill Thanos at the end of Infinity War is weighing heavily upon him throughout Endgame.

And look, Thor tried his best and all but, like... he should feel bad. Thanos was right, to a degree: Thor should have aimed for the head. It is partially his that half the universe is dead, so yeah, a massively depressed and despondent character arc for him in this film sounds about right.

Judging off of the new footage in this trailer, including flashbacks of him watching heroes dying with dialogue layered over of him saying "I saw all of these people die", and that weird shot of him in some sort of cave from the Super Bowl teaser, it's a safe bet to say that Thor is going to spend at least part of this film on a mission of his own.

Not only does this fit narratively, it's also just what Thor does. Avengers? Mission of his own. Age of Ultron? Mission of his own. Infinity War? Mission of his own. He's a rogue dude.

Whether that's going to Thanos' retirement condo on his own or seeking out a way to undo the decimation himself, expect Thor to be putting his misery to good use.
