When Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton was spotted in Endgame wielding a sword and donning an all-black outfit, fans knew it meant only one thing - that the archer was suiting up to become Ronin.

Although the circumstances surrounding Barton's identity switch differed drastically to how they were in the comics, Endgame replicated the David Finch's original design almost to the letter. The only major difference was that, instead of a balaclava-like mask, the movie version had a hood to go on top of it.

Obviously the main difference here is that when Clint became Ronin in the comics he didn't embark on a five-year-long murder spree, and instead used it to simply mask his identity, but the point still stands. By giving Clint his black and gold clobber, Endgame honoured one of the character's more unique periods.
