It's now been a year since Avengers: Endgame lit up cinemas and became the highest grossing movie of all time in the process and it still feels like fans have huge appetite for the movie. Even with Phase 4 ended (with Spider-Man: Homecoming), that movie event seems to live on - perhaps because we've not seen Phase 5 kick off properly yet.

As you'll already know, the directors and screenwriters came together to celebrate the first anniversary of the movie's release and revealed some great behind-the-scenes and development details that just made fans love it even more. In there we saw cancelled and deleted scenes, set stories and some never before seen images and clips and it was a riot.

Naturally, because they were all interacting with fan, there were also some questions and heartscratchers fielded about things that perhaps didn't make sense. And that gave the screenwriters a chance to fill in some blanks, including addressing two of the biggest unanswered plot-holes in the movie so far...

First, the issue of War Machine's mysterious costume change...

2. The Incredible, Miraculous Iron Patriot Armour

The Plot-Hole

In Avengers: Endgame, when Thanos destroys Avengers HQ, Rhodey's War Machine armour is levelled along with the building. We see him exit the suit and leave it behind. But then, the next time we see him, he's miraculously in another War Machine suit - the blue, red and silver (and incredibly badass Iron Patriot armour).

So how did he get that?

The Answer

It stands to reason that the suit was already in Avengers HQ (though why he doesn't use it all the time is anyone's guess, because it's mint), but the screenwriters revealed exactly how it came to Rhodey - through the power of shrinking...

It's a shame we didn't get to see that little detail - which was presumably planned at one point - but Christopher Markus (who answered the question above) is right in saying there was a very brief hint of the armour being in the destroyed HQ. You just had to look SUPER hard for it...

Why they didn't show the shrinking remains to be seen, but as with all cuts, it must have been down to running time.

And then there's the Morag issue... READ ON for that plot-hole involving Hawkeye, Black Widow and their trip to entirely the wrong planet...
