9. "Avengers Assemble!"

It's been a low-key running gag that, over the course of more than 20 movies, we've never actually heard the iconic phrase "Avengers assemble!" uttered by any of the movie's characters.

It was most blatantly teased in Age of Ultron, where Cap was cut-off by the credits, but the Russos smartly saved the full utterance for Endgame's climax, where Cap finally drops the line just as the various heroic armies mount up to battle Thanos.

It was the best kind of fan service imaginable, and again, an extremely satisfying pay-off to over a decade of build-up.
