27. All The Time Travel Movie References

Because this is a time travel movie thoroughly aware of its own silliness, it of course has to invoke some of the most acclaimed (and not) time travel movies of all time.

The fun begins when Scott tries to sell the notion of time travel to Tony, explaining that they just need to follow the usual rules, namely avoiding contact with yourself and not placing bets on sports.

Tony quickly notices that Scott is abiding by the time travel rules of the Back to the Future franchise, though, and duly mocks him for it.

A short time later, Rhodey (Don Cheadle) asks Professor Hulk why they can't just travel back in time and steal the Infinity Stones before Thanos does, with him and Scott citing the likes of Star Trek, Terminator, Timecop, Time After Time, Quantum Leap, A Wrinkle in Time, Hot Tub Time Machine and Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure as evidence. Scott also includes Die Hard, before quickly realising his mistake.
