5. It's Just An Existing Deleted Scene
Looking back at what Kevin Feige said, he may well be outright saying that the additional scene added after the credits is just a deleted scene that was cut in the edit rather than something they've created anew for this occasion.
There's certainly enough footage to make it possible, even with the hint that the Russos didn't cut an awful lot. The film's editors Jeffrey Ford and Matthew Schmidt have revealed that they trimmed the final movie down from a monstrous 900 hours of footage – a process they called “absolutely hellish”.
So what could the Deleted Scene be?
We know some story elements didn't make it out of the early scripting process, but those weren't filmed, but there's a suggestion that some little beats were. We know there was a bit where Thor leaned in for a kiss with Valkyrie for instance.
Or maybe it's the sequence that would have featured Katherine Langford's Morgan? The Russos revealed that her involvement would have been for a scene showing Tony meeting his grown-up daughter when he's transported to the metaphysical world, but it was cut because of test audience reactions. That could fit both as the Deleted Scene and as the tribute element Feige mentions.
