Avengers: Endgame - How Every Main Character Will Be Totally Different

Then

This trio of characters represents what is left of Wakanda. In Infinity War, they went from being a fully functioning society - even in the wake of T'Challa's decision to pull the curtain back on his kingdom - to being the site of the biggest battle the MCU has ever seen.

Prior to the snap, Okoye was T'Challa's personal bodyguard and the head of his security detail. M'Baku was Black Panther's most powerful ally and while he was the chief rival to the Wakandan throne, he expressed himself a loyalist in Infinity War.

Shuri, meanwhile, was the secondary heir and Wakanda's version of Tony Stark (probably with an even higher intelligence level), who came insanely close to unpicking the Mind Stone from Vision and allowing him to survive without it. Personality wise, she was as cocky as she was charming - a gentle annoyance to her brother.

Now

Wakanda is presumably in disarray without its king. In that power vacuum, the people will rally around the next in line, which you'd presume to be Shuri, but the first Endgame trailer suggested she is missing. Which means she's not on the throne. The likelihood in that case is that M'Baku will be king and Okoye will be his security detail once more.

It's hard to tell on the Shuri front and she's the most important of the characters here. If she is indeed "missing" rather than having disintegrated, it seems likely that she fled Wakanda. For what purpose nobody can be sure yet, but she may be heading out on a mission of her own - perhaps as the next Black Panther? That would be an almighty change for her.
