14. Starting Over

Sticking with the flashback sequences for a moment, another key one is the funeral of Peggy Carter from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, where we hear Peggy’s voiceover: “The world has changed. None of us can go back. All we can do is our best, and sometimes the best that we can do, is to start over.”

Start over, you say?

It’s an interesting choice of words given how this film is going to see the Avengers going back in time, and might be a clue as to what they’re attempting in the film. They’re going back to start again, attempting to reset things so that Thanos can’t get the Infinity Stones and the Decimation doesn’t happen.

We also get another shot of Steve in the support group, furthering those Leftovers vibes from the previous teaser, and confirming just how difficult starting over is actually going to be.
