Avengers: Endgame - The Frustrating Reality Of The "New" Post-Credits Footage

1. What It Should Have Been

It's frustrating that we didn't get a new post-credits scene that somehow tied to Spider-Man: Far From Home's impending release (and the multiverse element in particular). Imagine a tease for Phase 4 linked to that, no matter how brief.

Then again, at least it wasn't another kebab gag.

Even if the Russos had gone with another deleted scene, it might have been a more pleasing choice. The biggest opportunity was to restore the scene with Katherine Langford's older version of Morgan Stark, who Tony would have seen in a dying vision after snapping the new gauntlet.

That scene, which would have seen Morgan forgiving her father for sacrificing himself and proving herself well-adjusted in his absence, would have mirrored Thanos' vision with Gamora at the end of Infinity War and would have been way more weighty than the Hulk scene.

And given that it was cut only thanks to poor testing, the story of its deletion justifies its belated inclusion too. Hopefully we'll see that on the blu-ray release that will no doubt also include the Hulk scene and Stan Lee tribute too, though.

In the end, it just all feels like this re-release was no more than a trick to make more money and that's unfortunate, to say the least.
