4. What's Hawkeye's Mission?

We get to see the two sides of Hawkeye in this trailer: the family man Clint Barton with his family, and then, presumably after something terrible happens to them, the Ronin-esque figure who is in Japan for... some reason?

One rumour has it that Hawkeye is in Japan going up against the Yakuza, but what does that then mean for his role in the bigger plot of the film? It's hard to see how the Yakuza would fit in, so what else does Hawkeye's mission involve, and just what's going on when he's in that exploding tunnel setting?
