Avengers: Every Single Deleted Scene From Endgame & Infinity War
24. Natasha Refuses To Give Up
Avengers: Endgame's five year time jump took us to a brave new world where every single person was still struggling to move on with their lives after half the population's demise. The one person who refused to move on, however, was Natasha Romanoff. Yes, the Black Widow was determined to carry on the legacy of her fallen friends by carrying on the heroes' mission.
While we did get that general idea from the completed film, rewatching the trailers and TV spots will show you that there was quite a bit of character-driven footage cut. Be it her target practice sequence, unleashing her fury on a punching bag or the touching pre-Vormir moment with Hawkeye, none of these moments appeared in the final cut of the film.
Quiet moments like this can go a long way in grounding ambitious larger-than-life spectacles with some much-needed humanity so, while Endgame did have plenty of that, it could have done with a little more. And this would certainly have made Natasha's unjust demise later in the film all the more heartbreaking.
