Having had a helicarrier dropped onto his face, Brock Rumlow lost both his good looks and his mental stability at the end of The Winter Soldier, returning for Captain America: Civil War with a new gimmick - as mercenary villain Crossbones.

Current Whereabouts

He's dead, as far as we know, having blown himself up in an attempted act of terrorism designed to kill Captain America. Weirdly, actor Frank Grillo has already hinted Marvel have tried to call him back in, despite that apparent death.

Why He Needs To Come Back

Crossbones is an easy return and fits the bill for a lower level henchman to do some of Thanos' dirty work, while also - crucially - representing one of Scarlet Witch's big mistakes. His return could be devastating for her tenuous grasp on reality, which might be key to defeating the Avengers.
