That Captain America actually doesn't die, and everyone has spent years assuming the worst for no reason.

The best theory about Captain America 4's direction concerns Red Skull - a character who has been linked with a return to the MCU almost ever since he disappeared. Presumably, Avengers 4 will in some way deal with Thanos' destruction being undone using the same Infinity Gauntlet that wiped out half of existence.

That Gauntlet, of course, also includes the Tesseract (the Space Stone), which "disintegrated" Red Skull (or in reality transported him somewhere in the multiverse). Who is to say that that won't be reversed as well by some quirk of the process and Red Skull will rise for a final battle with Captain America, Bucky and Falcon?

Likelihood: 5/10

Either he dies or he doesn't - it's literally a 50/50 split at the minute. Even with Steve Rogers dead, Cap will continue with the promotion of one of his side-kicks, but that would be more likely to happen in Phase 4 without the Red Skull issue pulling it closer to the Infinity aftermath.
