That Scarlet Witch survives, but is horribly unhinged - probably by the death of her lover, Vision.

This would absolutely not have to be a pure adaptation - it couldn't be because of pesky rights issues - but it would be a very strong way to deal with the aftermath of Infinity and to tie up Scarlet Witch's story.

In the comics, her instability became such an issue that the Avengers concluded they had to kill her, so she changed reality, wiping some out of existence and changing everything else. The appeal there, of course, is that Marvel could use the narrative device to explain why it wouldn't be a full ensemble: a handful of characters could be shown in their "new reality", with one seeking the truth to find Wanda and save the world.

Maybe someone qualified as a spy? Someone like Black Widow, basically.

Likelihood: 2/10

This is undoubtedly one of the more out there theories on where Marvel could go, but it absolutely fits with what has been seeded already and with Scarlet Witch's instability. It would also represent a very strong end to her arc, and a means to focus on a smaller ensemble tasked with fixing what she does.

It would be a shame to do it without the X-Men, but at some point we're going to have to face that's just not going to happen.
